Antonio Berardi was said to have called himself a “very austere” person. He might be austere in the terms of his personality or clothes that he designs, but this what has made his name repeated by everyone are shoes, which apparently aren’t austere at all.
His FW08 collection presents a set of fine, yet strict tailoring. He doesn’t mess up with the colours, either. When all the designers convince you to wear violet, magenta and purple this season, he presents yellow and green instead.
I like such designers who don’t follow the trends blindly and who have their own idea on how to dress women. His designs are classical, mostly grey and black, so it’s pretty boring and on the other side there are these surprising platform boots worn by Victoria Beckham that he has used to pair with every single outfit of the collection. I actually thought it was boots with PVC leggins, but it’s only boots themselves.
What’s inside the collection? Mink fur, embroidered minidresses, bias-cut gowns and lots of black!
