Inbar Spector Spring Summer 2009

Inbar Spector, the Israeli-born creative was named ‘a designer to watch’ by Vogue themselves. She (!) presented her gothic vision during the Fashion Week and here are some of my thoughts on her dramatic show.

I must confess I was kind of shocked when I saw this show, I mean, it’s not about how shocking the designs were, but about the way of presented hair and make up, in particular. Models’ faces were all covered with a foundation that made their skin looking totally pale, in a big contrast with their tanned bodies. I didn’t like it at all, but it probably must have been some deliberate fashion statement or something. Nor did I like these brided updos, consisting of undersized pigtails. But let’s concentrate on fashion, though.

The clothes were mostly shred and black, but there were also some light blue accents. I quite liked the daring combination of a pumped up light blue dress and metallic PVC leggings. Looks like they aren’t going out of fashion this season. Also, very revealing clothes, showing decolletage and sometimes even more. What I liked the most, were lacy tops, tulle skirts and lace-covered dresses, which were showing models’ back. There was also a very noticeable closing outfit – white tulle gown with industrial strapped black waistcoat, which I totally dislike and find it some kind of fashion exaggeration. Just check the pictures and let me know if you like the collection, please!
