La Perla Spring Summer 2009

‘s collection for is a fine example of what I really love in fashion and – what makes me even happier – it points out the main trends for the forthcoming season. I’m not a fan of the ‘niche’ collections so I am twice as happy that I can present such a work of art filled with feminity.

Basically, La Perla wants us to get back to Seventies and this means mini, midi and maxi skirts, ultra short shorts, long dresses inspired by the hippy era of the late sixties and floral patterns. Not only does La Perla make use of the past but also extends it with some other more or less innovative ideas, like for example a ‘lady in whitetrend, adding lots of golden accessories (especially bags).

Their colour palette includes cream, black, navy, turquoise and violet. The collection shows lots of ideas on how to plan monochrome outfits, but the game with colours isn’t over as they suggest another trend, which is colour blocking – layering bold block colours.

Also, a Broderie Anglaise has a reflection on the rural style blouses. There are also bows tied on the neck, asymmetric coctail dresses like single-shouldered ones and toga-styles, lace-covered dresses, big blousy trousers (which I love!) and some see-through elements as well. Other highlights from the La Perla catwalk are: cut-outs, leggings, long fine cardigans, voluminous backs and waistcoats.

Accessories for spring summer 2009 by La Perla don’t actually play the leading role as they don’t draw your attention, but on the other hand they make the outfits complete. La Perla suggests an accessory asceticism with the only exception of snakeskin, oversized bracelets and high-heeled sandals which make me wonder whether I like them or not.

For the bag junkies there are the ubiquitous clutches and long strapped bags slung on the arm – mostly of a colour of gold.
