You know you have something special with a charming lace overlay of a white dress when you get into the room full of women in black. Luckily, ladylike elegance is so on-trend in spring summer 2012. Taking a cue from Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2012 fashion show, romantic white lace pieces set you apart from the rest in style this season.
White lace at Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 show
This was one of the most spectacular shows this season with models sitting atop a carousel of prancing white horses. The fantasyland set up in Louvre’s Cour Carrée helped Marc Jacobs create the unique background to unveil his sweetest collection of all times. Pretty and girly ensembles, ready for spring abounded in romantic broderie Anglaise dresses, skirts and blouses veiled in romantically seductive pastel shades. This beautiful candy-coloured collection was marked by Style.com as “ladylike” and “bridal” but this doesn’t rule out updating white lace (broderie Anglaise or crochet, if you like) to your everyday favourites.
Vintage-inspired vision that boasted delicate white lace trim on romantically seductive separates did not avoid Kate Moss. She was the last girl standing on the runway (just like during the label’s Fall 2011 fetishistic show). This time, Kate presented a white feathered dress with a drop waist, and a daisy lace overlay teamed up with classic white pumps, and a top knot swept back by white headband. Just beautiful.
Looking for white lace pieces?
Although none of us was a model sitting on a carousel at the Louis Vuitton Paris show, we’re still able to recreate the precious embellished looks. White dresses, blouses, skirts and even…lace shorts sweeten wardrobe like nothing else. Wear it with trendy cap toe pumps, a girly headband and a structured satchel for an instant ladylike flair.
