D&G right from Milan! I’m not particularly a fan of this collection, but it’s rather interesting taking into consideration Dominico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana‘s interest on the marine couture as I would call it. If you’d like to prove you like this collection then grab yourself a bargain from your grandma’s closet and get a navy top with sequins and a white anchor at the front!
An interesting fact, I’ve recently read about Dolce and Gabbana: they are said to have been taking inspiration from Italian actresses such as Sofia Loren and Anna Magnani.
During spring and summer 2009 by D&G, the dominating motives are golden or silver ornaments that in my humble opinion look like shells. Also, a lot of stripes that combined with navy shorts give the impression of a fashion right from the marine spa. Take a look at the meretricious and enormous roses that are located at the neckline or decorating hats and belts. Dolce and Gabbana have also used big, wide belts to highlight the waist, also high-waisted trousers that aren’t that popular with the crowds, I would say. Sequins and ribbons are everywhere: on jackets, blouses, tops and pants. Colours: white, red, navy, golden and silver.
