The Next Top Model shows all feature a group of girls who have been handpicked from various public catwalks across major cities for having something special about them. The show follows the girls as they take on various modelling tasks, which are then analysed by fashion judges. At the end of each episode, a girl must leave the show. The winner is the girl who is the last one standing, and she is guaranteed a modeling contract.

The Hills follows a group of women and men who live the high life in Beverley Hills. The shows feature real people in real situations, although some scenes are exaggerated to engage the audience. As a result of each characters’ wealth, the way they dress and the amount of time they spend shopping has become a main reason for why people watch the show.
