Did you know that in spring summer 2011 each and every one of us can turn into a White Swan following the steps of Natalie Portman? Ballet beauty meaning hair (a bun) and makeup presents a very on-trend but kind of minimalistic attitude.

It’s a wonder if the trend was inspired with the “Black Swan” screening with Natalie Portman’s Oscar-winning role, but it’s obviously a great example to follow. Thank God we’re not professionally interested in psychology and we can just move on with a beauty tutorial. Natalie Portman’s White Swan ensemble was copied and presented on many spring summer 2011 runways including Chloé, Richie Rich, Dolce & Gabbana and Versace.

Ballet Makeup

The ballerina trend in makeup means a pink or a light brown eyeshadow. Russet, sepia and auburn should be your colours of choice. Underline the eyes with a white shadow to create the bigger eye impression. You can also go for a liquid eyeliner to create a more dramatic look, but do not stick false eyelashes that will turn you into a Black Swan instead. Finish your matte look with a pale pink blush applied in an upward motion and a pastel shade lipstick or a lipgloss (such as pink, peach or nude).

Ballet Hair

The choice is very limited: ballet is known for their stict hair rules including only a high bun. In order to achieve this look simply brush the hair and determine where the bun will go. Create the pony tail tie and keep on twisting your hair until it knots on the top of your head. Pin the end of your pony tail with bobby pins. And…that’s it!
