If you are looking for the new nail trends, check out our extensive guide of top styles that we have seen again and again at the Spring Summer 2015 shows. In the new season, designers promote well-groomed nails (preferably matte) in nail polish colours described below. So if you are looking for to transform your nail style for the new-season ahead, you are guaranteed to find it in a beath-taking nail art and a modified French manicure.
White nail polish
White nails have been all the rage since Spring 2013 and judging from Tibi and Erin Fetherston runways, this trend is still on course. For some of you, white nails can be a revolutionary invention, but the fact is that it is not new on the fashion scene. The white nail trend dates back to 1960s when our mothers would wear a transluscent white varnish as a complement to boxy shape mod dresses. Today, choose a full-coverage nail varnish and feel free to add some dots and lines to adorn your modern manicure.
Pastel nail polish
Nothing will add more touch of flair to your nails in spring than a pastel nail varnish. Whatever your choice is: a delicate rosy pink, earthy nude (like the one used in Vera Wang show) or seductive lavender, pastels are always a classic, chic and elegant choice. Look for inspiration in a classical ballet.
Feeling playful? Stay on-trend right down to the tips of your nails with pastel shades of blue such as baby blue or sky blue. The trend was spotted during the Tess Giberson spring 2015 show.
Matte nail polish
The ultimate in beauty luxury, a non-shiny polish is a nail trend that is sill going strong. From black to white and everything in-between, matte nail polish dries for a silk-like finish to modernize your manicure instantly. This season, nail stylists go one level up and contrapose matte nails with 3D caviar nail art and animal print nails stickers (as seen in Serena Williams Signature Statement by HSN). A definite must-try.
New French manicure
French manicured nails can really give your style a lift. However, to keep up with the trends, mix up the classic French manicure with colours as opposed to the traditional sheer pink/white tip. The most striking styles from Spring 2015 runways were spotted at Nasir Mazhar whose nail stylists mixed burgundy and blue with a long white tip. Would you create this way-out manicure at-home?
Nail decor
The Blonds are not your average fashion designers. They shock with their clothes, makeup and hair and of course, Spring 2015 was no different. The inspiration behind the show was “Gangsta Jeanie” and the look created by CND Nails, the global leader in professional nail care, unveiled 20 unique nail designs. What we actually saw on The Blonds Spring/Summer 2015 Fashion Show were bejeweled, gold filigree, gem and pearl accented, bleeding heart nails dripping in chains. Just have a look at some of crazy nail art of theirs.
The glittering gold means a brilliant finishing touch that acts like jewellery for your nails. Rich, and glossy, a gold nail varnish brings a luxurious new brilliance to your fingertips.
Even Lana del Rey wouldn’t be ashamed with this exaggerated claw nails.
This striking metallic nail polish infuses a punk-rock edge with a touch of irresistible glam. Totally fashionable.
