The spring summer 2014 fashion shows left us desiring many beautiful items. The new season bursts with sportswear-inspiration, statement prints, backless shoes and ladylike silhouettes. See the top 5 clothing and accessory must-haves that had made appearances on the runway to take you through to the new season.
Full skirt
A feminine circle skirt featuring a flattering fitted waist creates the illusion of an hourglass figure. It emphasizes the hip and thigh area, making even the straightest frame look curvey. Dramatic and timeless, a full skirt (especially midi length) is good for work, evening and weekend. Pair it with a sheer blouse and sandals and remember, there is nothing more ladylike than a rustle of swinging pleats!
Mules
Mules, once a signature shoe for the 1960s have had the luxurious makeover for 2014. They are nowhere near the unflattering orthopedic slip-ons you probably have in mind. The new mule is classically backless and often closed-toed, and mixes retro with a high-fashion twist. Most importantly, the new mule does not make this annoying clack-clack sound. Wear it with a boxy cut shift dress or tapered trousers.

Luxe sweatshirt
Slogans and graphic prints on everything from tees to sweatshirts had their roots back in 1990s. Thanks to the great popularity of Givenchy Bambi sweatshirt that made an appearance in practically every street style picture, this trend is taking off for another season. In Spring 2014, the It-girl will choose the Alexander Wang’s sweatshirt featuring the ‘Parental Advisory’ logo graphic or at least a slouchy beanie with a tongue-in-cheek slogan.

Mesh dress
Bright colours, lightweight layers, sheer fabrics, and mesh inserts – designers all got in on the sporty dressing trend. If you used to hate P.E. classes, you might want to choose something less literal. Think about ladylike with an edge – a dress with mesh panels that provides a mesmerizing hint of what lies beneath. It takes a cue from Maria Sharapova’s tennis dresses we have seen on the court.

Bomber jacket
Did you know that bomber jackets were originally created for pilots? So what! Bomber jackets for women are huge this spring and celebrities have been all over it. From leather to graphic, there is one to fit any taste. If you are fascinated with Rihanna and Rita Ora’s wardrobe, you will choose a lightweight boldly printed jacket without a question. Pair with a feminine skirt for a hot spring look.
