Gladiator Sandals
Ancient Rome is coming back with a huge impact as gladiator sandals are continuously smoking trendy. Most styles we have seen on the runway had a statement-making knee-high length which apparently is versatile for casual and dress. The most brilliant gladiator sandals were seen in Chloe spring 2015 fashion show. Models channeled their inner warriors in sandals paired with dresses of any kind: boho, shirt, denim, suede, cut out, even lace. Maxime Simoens presented black and white gladiator sandals with coloured ombre underlay. Is this something your would wear?
Flatforms/ Platform Flats
Comfortable and classy, flatform sandals make the effortlessly stylish shoe type. For spring and summer 2015 they come in a variety of styles: pastel colours, with gold embellishments or adorned with wooden platform (as seen in john galliano). manish arora went one step ahead and designed moon boot flatforms with holographic effect. The flatform trend seems pretty rough but it will pair well with all-white or pastel summer looks. Looking for the alternative? Add a touch of feminity to your summer looks with minimal slides.
Chunky heels
Step into the comfy shoe trend in the classic, all-purpose chunky heeled shoes. From monique lhuillier and Saunder to Trussardi and John Richmond, block heels have been all the rage in spring 2015. The main advantage is that they keep your step sturdy by adding a sophisticated retro touch to your look. Note that some of the best styles we have picked (Saunder) feature an on-trend transparent heel which gives the classic looks a modern twist. Apparently, Mr. Louboutin was not right – high heels do not have to hurt.
Fringed / Furry Shoes / Feathery
These fashion-forward shoes featuring fringe, feather and fur details will introduce a little swing and dash to your wardrobe. The hottest pieces for spring summer were presented in tibi and Laurel Show fashion shows. They come in tasty, earthy colours such as chocolate, chestnut, cognac, ivory and that will especially match trendy safari and tribal-inspired clothes. Serkan Cura however, offered a masterclass in styling the most outstanding colourful fur boots for the haute couture show.
Floral detailing
In a fresh and broad spectrum of colours, flower details present a clearly feminine vision. The flower-adorned shoes from the runway are very feminine and still wearable. Designers used floral prints and floral appliques to express the summery spirit. From the picture above you can see that some shoes are romantically decorated with chiffon flowers sometimes peeking out above the heel.
Mules
Looks like designers are all about giving new life to the old style. High or low and mostly with a chunky heel, the mules of 2015 are nowhere near the unflattering orthopedic slip-ons. Featured in a nina ricci fashion show, the mules of today show off an extra trend-right vibe. Pull on a boho dress and let them transform you into a sexy rustic coquette.
Peep Toe Boots
Popularised by a crowd of celebs, peep toe booties are back again, this time for spring. They are perfect for adding edge to pretty dresses and city shorts (see Vionnet). Peep toe booties look modern and depending on the heel height, allow high speed travel. They will also help you cover the unsexy parts of your feet which are far from perfect after winter. And you can always count on them when the weather gets chilly.
