While there were some fantastic shoes on the runway from the likes of Altuzarra, Christian Dior and Prada, we have selected a few shoe trends we are currently lusting after for spring summer 2014. A variety of styles were on display from chunky heels and strappy sandals to mules and slingbacks. Also, the following details: floral appliqués and mesh inserts adorned many feminine and dainty shoe types we have seen on the runway.
Mules and slingbacks
High or low, flat, with a chunky heel, or a sleek stiletto, the leg-lengthening mules of 2014 are nowhere near the unflattering orthopedic shoes, or garden clogs. Mules and feminine slingbacks have breathed new life into fashionable accessories – you can tell that more and more celebrities chose them over good old pumps and stilettos. Look for styles with a closed pointed toe and sophisticated, modern cuts.

Mesh detail shoes
…put a high-style spin on sporty-luxe affair. Versatile and practical, mesh-panels provide just enough ventilation without giving up comfort everytime your pedicure artist has a day off. On the other hand, sultry peek-a-boo mesh details offer up a slightly vampy vibe because they are designed to give just a hint of what lies beneath.

Floral applique shoes
Floral appliqués give shoes an air of true romance. This spectacular, head-turning shoe trend brings a distinctively beautiful accent to women’s accessories to celebrate a variety of warm weather flowers and the richness of colours. A savvy choice for day or night for self-conscious women who want to celebrate their elegance and feminity. Tomboys, go somewhere else!

Strappy sandals
Spring strappy shoes were all the rage on the New York Fashion Week where designers showcased super-comfy flats, Gladiator sandals, ankle-cuff and T-bar high-heeled stunners. Colours ranged from black and white to metallic and feminine hues like blush pink, for instance. Also, pretty embellishments gave an open and airy sandal a dressy option for the downtown girl.

Chunky heels
No more broken ankles and most of all, no more boredom! A high-style choice for summer, chunky heels provide amazing support and comfort to your feet all day long. They are usually colourful and feature a platform sole. Chunky block heels stand in contradiction to the ethereal silhouettes we have seen on the runways. Team with everything from printed shorts, tailored trousers or shift dresses.
